A Foray into the Eclectic

Too Short and Too Early…

Tuesday morning at five in the morning just finishing a very nice coffee and off to work earlier than usual. And why? Because otherwise my customers will have no bread for their breakfast. Dedication and loyalty can be difficult some times. I will be a walking zombie by two this afternoon.

Should really be going right now but thought a quick post would be good. Main news I think it’s that we’ve moved away from gas and electric, as gas prices are due to rise and rise and electric cooking ain’t doable on our boat. So what are we using I hear you cry…or not as the case maybe. Well for anyone stumbling onto this page we are using a spirit stove.

Is working quite well and probably on par with gas as far as cost is concerned. It had rubber gaskets which have to be put on when not in use to stop evaporation so we are learning to only put in what we need for any given cooking job. Having fun getting either bio fuel or methylated spirit. The former is more expensive the layer only comes in 500ml bottles. Have found up to 2l but the cost is higher than smaller bottles so far. Have found larger containers but i have to get a licence.
